Tree octopuses used to be everywhere here in the Pacific Northwest.
Back in the 70s when I was a kid we used to shoot them with BB guns, then we'd get the ink sac and squirt each other.
It stunk to high heaven and ruined our clothes but we had a blast.
I haven't seen one in probably 16 years, usually out on the Olympic Peninsula- Hoh Rain Forest.

Things were ugly though and the ink did stain but that was the price of fun back in the day.

They only climb the trees during geoduck mating season.

They also climb trees to get tree snails. It's a delicacy to them. Especially to the ones in France.
