Bring down the bloody tyrant of Damascus and stop Russians from gaining a foothold in ME. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 61614459 Have any proof Assad is a tyrant? The burden of proof is on you. The rest of the world knows he's responsible for systematic torture and killing of the political opposition. That is all of the Middle East not just Syria! What are you going to do topple all the dictatorships in the Middle East and try to force democracy on people by dropping bombs on them?! That's what some of these moronic TV watchers believe, but we all know they aren't interested in democracy. Hell, they aren't even interested in democracy here (e.g. their treatment of Donald Trump and the Deplorables). Last Edited by Cuckslayer on 06/18/2017 06:01 PM And He said to them, "But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one." The US was sending a message that they will not tolerate any advance by the Syrian Army without a fight. We will see if Assad/Russia take it, or strike back... |

It came out about the same time as the F4 and was mostly an attack plane. In Russia it was known as the Su17 and entered service in 1970. Syria would be better off buying up some cropdusters and refitting them. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75081775 Syria is a sovereign nation folks. Sooner or later Russia is gonna turn on the S400. Then shit's gonna get real. It's not foolproof, but we would have to escalate to attacking Russian air defense forces directly at that point if we wanted to keep operating in Syria. And, at that point... that means they have shot down one of our jets. So if we go to take out the S400, which would be a daunting operation, then Russia would feel the need to deploy 5th generation fighters to protect their ground troops. Now you have Migs and Raptors in a direct air battle... that would probably be considered the beginning of WWIII unless either Putin or Trump backs down before that point. Considering what we know of the two men, the odds of that aren't great. :hidetomato: But the F-22 raptors would destroy Russia's 5th Gen fighters based on superior numbers alone; we could have 2 dozen F-22's in Syria in less than 12 hours I'd imagine; if we already don't. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75035572 The Serbians took down a F-117 with a 30 year old obsolete SAM system by using some novel tactics. Odds are, the S400 being operated by Russia's best technicians could target a F22, if not 100% of the time... enough to make them think twice about risking it. Stealth aircraft are only good against third world countries with poorly trained conscripts running the radar. That being said, Russia only has a handful of launchers in theater. From what I remember, a barrage of 50 or so cruise missiles would cause them to expend all their loaded launchers, the 51st missile and every one after would begin taking out radars and launchers. Of coarse, at that point we would have killed hundreds of Russian personnel and then we would have that to deal with... :hidetomato: |

There is no such thing as invisible aircraft, that is for sure. The problem is the US has decoy signature drones so good luck picking out the 12 F-22's with 120 radar signatures. That's why the Russian missle defense system is way overhyped. It'll be fooled out of commission and be air struck. Last Edited by OutdoorsMan on 06/18/2017 06:45 PM |
