Just like any other company, time to move on to new markets and leave the old behind. All those worthless Harleys that people spent WAY TOO MUCH money for. heh. |

When he passed my dad and I worked for 2 weeks everynight after work and got it back together, when his old lady came out while it was running the feeling was like nothing describable. Sold the last one about 7 years ago and never looked back. Anybody could have seen this coming for a long time, 20k piece of metal that maybe will start when you want to ride one of those 15 days a year that you can out here. Been thinking about getting back into 2 wheelers, but this time it will be a scooter. Stealth and easy parking. Purity of Essence |

The number one interested party is HD. This won't help sales for people under 30 being that Ducati is an expensive motorcycle compared to the likes of Honda or Suzuki. Only time will tell. I ride a Ducati and I am not happy about this! For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. -Carl Sagan. |

Ive been riding the old steel since the early 80s. Oldest bike was a 1942. This place is FULL of garage queens that the RUBS bought during the whole "orange County" phase. Im the only one that still rides. Current bike is a 1989 Tour Glide. The dealer wont work on it and om good with that. $45.00 korean tshirts? $100 hoodies from Sri lanka?? Anonymous Coward User ID: 73080747 United States 07/20/2017 03:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been ridinig for approximately 35 years and had numerous bikes. One of which was a Harley. I won't own another Harley. What I've noticed is if a person likes to ride often (i.e., ride more on your motorcycle than you do on four wheels), the person will own anything but a Harley. There is indeed more to riding than horsepower. Suspension, enginieering, reliability, handling, maintenance intervals, braking, safety and virtually anything else attached to motorcycling are all better addressed through almost every other motorcycle company in the world than Harley except one-- nostalgia. Only perhaps Indian has that emotional, long-term attachment, but not as widespread, as Harley-Davidison. Those long term potential consumers are dying off. As I tell many folks who ask, "Why don't you ride Harley?" "Look, a Harley is good for what it is. A recreational vehicle only you take out when you have time and the weather is nice to enjoy your experience, like a 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air. And like a 1955 Bel-Air, it doesn't hold a candle to any new vehicle on the road except in a nostalgic, emotional way. But if you have to drive often, or depend upon it at all, and wish to remain safe while having a better experience and greater ability, you drive and ride something else." |
