Bush's administration could have planned the aftermath of the invasion so as to create a STABLE future Iraq. But they all bungled it with one mistake after another (biggest: dismantling the Iraqi army). Sure, Bush's cronies made big bucks in the short run. But it ain't goin to last when Bush has to withdraw troops because of mounting casualties. When THAT happens, his puppet Iraqi government collapses and the Iranian-backed Shi'ites take over the oil wells, Goodbye Exxon Mobil. America's enemies now control production and prices and it's back to square one. So, YES. Bush DID bungle it. Palast is only looking at the situation in the short run. |

In case you’ve forgotten what their real mission was, let me remind you of White House spokesman Ari Fleisher’s original announcement, three years ago, launching of what he called, “Operation Iraqi Liberation.” O.I.L. How droll of them, how cute. Then, Karl Rove made the giggling boys in the White House change it to “OIF” — Operation Iraqi Freedom. But the 101st Airborne wasn’t sent to Basra to get its hands on Iraq’s OIF. “It’s about oil,” Operation Iraqi Liberation Gotta Liberate that Oil |

itdincor User ID: 211656 United States 05/29/2007 01:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, I don't know if this administration is THE most corrupt in history, but it's right down there, near the bottom, and that's sure. For example, there was the Harding administration of the early 1920s. THAT outfit was corrupt from top to bottom! And, the Harding administration too was primarily concerned with ... you guessed it; oil. So much as I dislike the Guardian, considering it to be a shrill, utterly biased, illogical, America-hating, institutionalized Marxist shill-rag, this is one article I must agree with. After all, would we have invaded Iraq if that nation only had pomegranates and dates? As for Cheney and Halliburton ... my God. What scum! |
