I wonder if, if he was taken, the kidnapper had a change of heart and "put him back". Wasn't it that he was found not far from his home, or where he went missing? but the search started in the area immediately?

To cover their face they had a bear mask, or costume.

Bigfoot just doesn't, allegedly, look a whole lot like a bear other than being big and hairy. And most bears would be temped to eat a kid...

IF he hung out with a bear that bear would have been in it's winter shelter for most of the time, which could explain why he ended up so close to where he disappeared.

The Black Bears that inhabit that part of the Appalachians are mostly vegetarians ... and ... this is NOT the time of the year when they are hungry unless it is an easy meal of opportunity (ie: human left trash - IF they are awake), it is actually a time of year when they are mostly fasting. If a bear was involved it would have been sleeping most of the time he was with it.

In my younger years I did a lot of hiking/ backpacking in that part of the world, and the Black Bears in that area, except for one problem bear we encountered once (that the NPS had to go in and "exterminate") were not aggressive at all, just interested in "free food" if they could get it off of humans (stolen food backpacks? yep, they DO that on occasion! ). The bears in that area are VERY gentle creatures actually, and very used to living close to humans.

The ONLY surprise to this story for me is that a bear would actually wake up out of it's hibernation to take care of him. Not surprising at all that the bear in that region would be protective of him while he was "lost" IF it woke up.

I believe the boy's story ... it makes the most sense of all since the weather was NOT warm and he had to be in some sort of shelter to survive like he did, and a bear's shelter - with the heat from the bear keeping him warm - makes the most sense of all.

This story is SO bullshit!
This happened right down the road from me.
Nothing adds up on this story!

The 3 yr old went missing during 2 of the coldest nights we have had in that area.
They sent out 600 searchers ....Law Enforcement and even called in the MARINES. They used K9 units and helos and drones both equipped with thermal imaging. Authorities TURNED AWAY volunteers "due to their safety" (to many creeks and ditches ...wtf?)
The parents searched for 45 minutes before calling the police. The police started search parties immediately after that.
Using 600 LE,NCSI,US marines,Forest & game ...helicopters and drones mounted with advanced thermal imaging they searched 1000 acres of land for 3 straight days and found NOTHING.
Then yesterday authorities received a "tip" that lead them to the child. He was found tangled in vines that were also in a watery area. Kid was fine. How does a 3 yr old stay lost in the woods, cold and wet during temps that were in the high teens, low 20s for 3 days (and nights) alone...only to be found in an area previously searched, not that far from home?
Something is being covered up. Why turn away volunteers? Grown ups cant navigate through the woods because of ditches?
Why call in the Marines? Need fire power much when looking for 3 yr olds?
Why didnt they find him the first 3 days if he was so close to home?
I contacted David Paulides already because this just doesnt add up!

He was found a quarter of a mile from where he went missing. So, it should be fairly easy for 600 searchers to find the bear cave and the bear that let him "hang out". Until they hunt down the bear and the cave...this excuse is bullshit.
