They want their eternal life. They want their heavenly father (Sun) to be a real conscious person, rather than a ball of fire that provides mere illumination. They have anthropomorphised their Sun to the point where they can no longer recognize the original object of their worship. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 331490 United States 11/26/2007 02:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think what people don't understand is that when the picture of Christ was painted, carved, etc., they would put a halo around him. This halo is not symbolic of the sun at all. This halo is symbolic of his aura. From what I've read, all great teachers should have a yellow aura. Of course, for many humans, this aura is difficult to see. I even tried to see it in people, but it's a bit hard for me to see past the first level. And I only tried to see because I wanted to know if it was true or not, but there is some truth to this "aura" business. As a Catholic, I know the difference between the Son and Sun. Every star -not planets, comets, asteroids, etc. - you see in the sky is a possible sun with a possibility of having it's own solar system with life in other planets. So there is a big difference between worshipping the sun and the Son. God is not our Sun. The Son of God is not the sun. God is everything in and out of this universe. I'm still trying to understand the concept of the Son of God, but I believe there's something there that speaks the truth about Jesus of Nazareth and who he was. The possibilities of anything happening in this universe are endless - after all, we're here and so are all these other planets and stars (suns), galaxies, etc. that is beyond my capabilities to understand why it happened, where did it come from, etc. There are just too many questions to ask. BTW. The clips are nice, esp. the first one. |

In order to make the message of the Gospel more appealing, they likened Messiah to the sun. The rest is history. You'll not find any link between Dec 25 and Christianity for some time after the religion's inception. No Fear |

Anyone who is so spiritually blind that they cannot see the fulfillment of bible prophecy (Mystery Babylon the Great, Mother of Harlots), is probably never going to see just how badly they've been had. Satan has done a MASTERFUL job at getting them to throw the baby out with the bathwater. (throwing Jesus out with the Satanic lies and perversions of the truth) |

Quoting: NimhaltiThat's because there was more than one Jesus character which was being worshiped as a messiah. Indeed, early accounts place one historical Jesus around 100 BC. Yes -- 100 years prior. Furthermore, the word "Jesus" implies a savior. It can be both a title as well as a name. It would be like President Bush's first name being "President" rather than "George". Think about the name of the religion -- CHRIST-ianity. This implies Christ-worship, NOT any particular Christ -- ALL Christs. They have lumped the most popular of them into a single mythological figure. |

I'm not sure what you mean. It depends on which scholars you believe I guess. Yeshua is likely a shortening of Yehoshua (Joshua), or it could just be an alteration of the same name (trying to think of an example, something like Justin/Dustin comes to mind). It has been suggested that Yehoshua was Jesus' real name and it was just shortened to Yeshua for clarity and brevity. Both of the names mean almost the same exact thing so I don't think it matters much. No Fear |

Quoting: SourceThis name is also spelled as "Y'shua" "Yeshua"and "Joshua". The Hebrew name "Y'shu" became "Iêsous" in the Greek translated form, which became "Iesus" in the Latinized form, which became "Jesus" in the Anglicized form, and became "Yasou" in the Arabic Anglicized form. Savior is a title, is it not? |
