Quoting: Anonymous Coward 297109what if I give nothing those Sundays when I don't attend church ? Is the admission price to Heaven really 10% as Christianity says ? What if I leave the church out of my will and give my money to my kids instead ? Why, yes. Yes, you will. And, please note well, due to inflation, the "tithe" (one-tenth) is now set at 20%. Dig deep, brother! |

No, because the church does not distribute the wealth it recieves amoung those in need in the community. Yes, because you shouldnt collect wealth when others are in need, your children are not in NEED. There's nothing wrong in saving a bit for a rainy day, but collecting vast amounts of wealth is wrong. IMO. But hey, as long as you and your have what they need, right? |

On a side note I read an interesting book on tithing and its apparent true purpose, which was to be used for celebrating God, a big ole party once a year. Perhaps most of us tithe more than enough. :) |

Since 2 Tim 3:16 teaches us the scriptures contain all required for the faith the answer is no. Regards JimmyK |

However one will have to give an account for the actions still, though they will not miss eternal life. Also most people do not know what tithes is because of the ignorance the church has bred. Tithes is and has ALWAYS been a tenth of one's INCREASE and not income as the church teaches. There is a vast difference between the two. You determine INCREASE with a yearly calculation. If you make 10,000.00 the first year you would owe 1,000.00 in tithes. If you earn 11,000.00 the next year you would have a 1,000.00 INCREASE and would owe 10 percent of that increase which is only $100 for that year. However offering can be any ammount you wish to give and blessings will stem out from what you GIVE from your money and not God's money. God's money is the tithe; it belongs to Him already and is due to Him. Oferring is yours to give. In conclusion if you never have an increase from the prior year, you would OWE no tithes. The Bible CLEARLY states 10 percent of all your INCREASE. The word INCOME is never used. Check it for yourself. |
