My experience with loop thinking is that it's motivated by feelings and emotions. Those emotions can't always be trusted as truth. Usually, insecurity or fear will be the 'force or source' of these emotions. Emotions aren't good or bad, they just are/exist. Usually seeking the truth is the reality that can be trusted. So, fear and insecurity will cause a person to continue the 'self-speak' of emotions. I hope that helps.
