Although solar tsunamis share much in common with tsunamis on Earth, the solar version can travel at over a million kilometers per hour. The tsunami took place on 19th May 2007 and lasted for about 35 minutes, reaching peak speeds around 20 minutes after the initial blast. The observations were made by a team from Trinity College Dublin. The discovery was presented by David Long at the RAS National Astronomy Meeting in Belfast on April 2. “The energy released in these explosions is phenomenal, about two billion times the annual world energy consumption in just a fraction of a second. In half an hour, we saw the tsunami cover almost the full disc of the Sun, nearly a million kilometres away from the epicentre,” said Long. ======================== this just happened again from a blank no sun spot sun....wtf |

A HAARP full power transmission was directed at the sun and triggered the outburst. (watch for wide scale power outages or other earth effects tonight) 2. HAARP is being used to shore up the Earth's Magnetosphere to shield us from the effects of the outburst that was triggered by something (someone) else. |

His colleague Dr Peter Gallagher, who is also from TCD, said the shockwave moved out exactly like a tsunami on Earth. "A series of troughs and crests in pressure causes it to propagate outwards. But on the Sun, we have hot gas," he explained. "When I’m talking to someone in a room, my voice is carried by pressure waves in the gas that's between us; it's the much the same on the Sun." However, it was not exactly the same, Dr Gallagher added, because on the Sun, magnetic fields also helped the waves along. The phenomenon is therefore known as a magneto-acoustic wave. |

I'm thinking... actually... that it might just be #2. BTW the person with their "power nap" a couple posts up is an absolute f'ing idiot. They have obviously not studied human sleep patterns at all to know that it is natural to have a mid-afternoon (late afternoon in teens) energy drain. |

They were predicting that this solar tsunami could affect global weather. Weather man said it could be bad but no one ever expected the magnitude of that storm. Some people witnessed weird sheet lightning and other strange effects that night. We were without power here in some places for 10-12 days afterwards. Emperor Kenton had some stuff to say about it all after that storm. But he has passed over now. So... what's my point? watch the weather, if there is severe weather predicted in your area it could be far worse than what they are imagining. Get your emergency preparedness kits ready. |
