The NHC has been very accurate this year on all projected tracks of tropical cyclones.

If it drifts a few degrees...then?

What does the NHC track show? If it's not projected to hit the USA, then it's a 99% lock that it will not hit the USA.

NHC Forecast is only to the 09/10/2023 east of the Bahamas. GFS model shows landfall in Nova Scotia late 09/14/2023.

Any forecast beyond 4-5 days is likely to change particularly with that angle of approach.

Anybody on the E coast should monitor this storm if it becomes a cat 3 or higher.

While TWC hypes every tropical storm for ratings, but Idalia was NOT! a nothing burger.

If you have lived through a hurricane of 90 mph or higher as I have, you'll know they are to be taken seriously.

Update: NHC 5pm tropical depression is upgraded to Tropical Storm Lee.

Forcast to a hurricane in 2 days and a major hurricane by Friday.

And it's projected path is the North East for the "northern aggression".

One weather guy is saying he thinks it will not make landfall in the US. But he does expect it to strengthen big time.

Praying nothing happens! Prince Edward Islander here, and we got hit hard by Fiona last September and we are still not cleaned up yet. We had people without power for 25 days (went without for 11 myself). Our grid cants handle another one. Not to mention we literally shook with 180 km/h winds, don't know how well we'd fair with 163 mp/h winds.
