Many women in the past smoke and drank alcohol and coffee. As long as they weren’t extreme the kids were fine. It’s all the damn vaccines. Kids back then weren’t vaccinated as much and not until they were going to school. So a couple of shots at about 5 or 6 years of. Still that was too much.

Schools don’t teach anything about common sense and basic living anymore. It’s all lgbtq.

We just eat or drink what the body says to eat and drink. Drinking coke and eating plain chicken got me through morning sickness. So did salsa and sips of wine in the evening once in a while. It's the vaccines! Although I will say that I always knew the second I was pregnant (I have 4 children) because I couldn't stand coffee, even the smell. It made me throw up pretty much from day 1 of pregnancy. And I love coffee. They say women will avoid foods that can harm the developing baby.

I've had a firm theory about autism since my own first pregnancy and I've never even heard anyone else speculate about it.

Back in the 90s, they started putting DHEA into literally EVERYTHING made for pregnant women and babies, to "promote healthy brain development."

It was in prenatal vitamins, snacks marketed to pregnant women, baby formula, baby food ... all of it. It might still be - I haven't had a baby in a while.

I avoided that shit like I do all additives, supplements, vitamins, etc.

Then, when I heard that children with autism have up to 70% MORE gray matter than neurotypical kids, it all made perfect sense to me.

They put an additive in pregnancy-related and baby things to promote brain development, and kids with autism have extra big brains that don't function typically.

Why does no one ever study THAT?

I drank way way more coffee than most while pregnant and there's no autism here.

I still can't eat meat. It all smells rotten.

The rotten eggs smell went away and I still love mayo and eggs.

I craved things like bleu cheese that you aren't supposed to eat, but most bleu cheese is pasteurized in this country so I ate that anyway, and pregnancy was where I developed a taste for sushi, which was also supposed to be avoided, and tuna, which was supposed to be limited.

I still crave fish, too. I haven't had a cheeseburger for 19 years but I'd move heaven and earth for a can of tuna when the craving hits.
