Mix in 1/3d cup of regular Listerine in each tank of water. At higher settings you'll use slightly more than a tank per use. Get between the teeth and shoot down along the gumline to clean out any pockets of nastiness. Do this for two weeks and I GUARANTEE an improvement that will be greater than any other treatment you're thinking of. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 474840 United States 07/28/2008 12:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My husband had periodontal disease on gums and rinsed for 30-60 seconds with 1/2 peroxide to 1/2 water just once a day. He would swish it around his mouth and let it just sit for at least 30 seconds. Hang your head down over sink when you do this so you don't swallow any. He also took increased vit. C. from 500 to 1000. I don't know if that's the suggested proportions of peroxide to water but it worked for him. No more problem. |

I had bleeding gums and the dentist was threatening to do a root planing (they scrape below the gum line with their cleaning tools). Next step was going to be gum surgery. I got a Water Pik and the next checkup I was fine. It's amazing what kind of crap comes out even after brushing. I use one tankful each for top an bottom. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 474842 South Korea 07/28/2008 12:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I saved my teeth this way. My dad used to line his gums with salt and hold it there. Good idea. He died with every tooth in his head. Told me to stay away from dentists if I wanted to keep my teeth. :) Also used straight peroxide, held in the mouth for as long as I could stand it...like 30 minutes. The addition of Vitamin C will help. Do these procedures alternatively once or twice a day. Your gums will return to normal. After 36 years, I still have my teeth after being told I had pyorrhea and they would all have to be pulled. BS. . |

You will see the difference. Avoid as much as you can the parodonthist surgery (cutting your gums). BIG, big problems with your teeth, speech, etc., after that surgery. Quoting: blackcat66 348276I'd go with oregano oil, but maybe mix it with sunflower oil and swish it (oil pulling) around your mouth several times a day. I'm sure taking Vit C won't hurt and maybe help. Thread: **OIL PULLING** - STRONGER, WHITER TEETH!! Hold off on the H2O2. |

Aim the water pik stream at 90 degrees to the gum line, not straight down into the pockets. mix one teaspoon ascorbic acid powder with 1/2 teaspoon all natural baking soda in a glass - add about 1 inch of water - let it fizz - then fill the glass with more water and drink - VERY powerful vitamin c solution. Research about chaparral herb and consider drinking it as a tea while taking 1,000 mg niacin. You can do this every 4 hours. |

How long can you keep it exposed? Reply to #1. Peroxide does NOT cause cancer of the mouth; in fact it is used for all manner of mouth/gum disease. It is H2O2, which means it has oxygen, which is necessary for the cells. People drink pharmaceutical grade H2O2 diluted to 3%. One should know how to use it for internal purposes. Wonderful stuff! Regular peroxide contains stabilizers which keep it from breaking down quickly, which makes it inadvisable for internal consumption. Do a search on H2O2. Reply to #2. Regular peroxide does break down, but note it is bottled in dark glass/plastic. It takes quite awhile to become weakened or useless if kept in a cabinet and kept tightly capped. . |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 472418 United States 07/28/2008 02:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP, you'll need to remove the tarter buildup that has invaded the areas tucked up and underneath the surfaces of your gums. Deep Scaling is what the dentists call it. If its a money situation, there are affordable alternate insurance-like plans. But if you do not have a regular dentist, you'll be looking at a few hundred before its all said and done. Don't get discouraged. Until you can properly address it, it is good to: Floss Brush (massage gums too) Use a mouthwash that addresses plaque buildup. Alternate with the peroxide mouthrinse suggested in previous posts. It is reversible.. but if the gums have receded alot, you can expect to see around a 30% improvement as far as reversing the recession. Not certain of your age, but this happens to many people. Good luck~ |

czygyny User ID: 418932 United States 07/28/2008 02:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I cured my gingivitis by using Listerine, keeping it in my mouth while I brushed, to help strip away the saliva that harbors the bacteria. I do it at least three or four times a week. Use a broad spoon to scrape your tongue once or twice a week. I floss after every meal and use wood toothpicks to polish and clean my teeth, trying not to cram any food or plaque down under the gum. I have found that using non flouride toothpaste also keeps my teeth cleaner, oddly enough. I get frequent remarks on how nice my teeth are. |

Oil pulling has done more for my teeth and gums than anything I've ever tried. I used to get tartar buildup really severely behind my bottom front teeth. I would get it cleaned and it would be back in 3 weeks. Since I started Oil Pulling I don't get that tartar buildup there any more. Amazing. If you can't find sunflower oil locally you can buy it from soapmaking places. I bought mine from Herbal Accents soapmaking supplies. [link to www.herbalaccents.com] I never tried it with sesame oil. The sunflower oil works great for me. Sometimes I add a couple of drops of DILUTED oil of oregano. Don't use oregano oil at all unless you dilute it one part oregano oil to ten parts olive oil. |
