Go to Toronto. Vancouver is not that great. The people in Vancouver are not the friendliest bunch, and the schools/Universities are sort of cliquish.

Vancouver is an excellent place if you have a good social support, but not that great to move to to make a new life.

I have heard many more great things about Toronto as far as social/openness.

The nightlife in Vancouver is also dangerous. Every Saturday and Friday night there are drunken brawls, and the police cordon off the Granville street area to stop cars and violence.

Vancouver nightlife is also like that scene from fear and loathing in Las Vegas, where all the patrons turn into reptilians lol. It would be rare to see a non-reptile in a nightclub.

Edmonton is good for jobs/making a living, but it is incredibly cold. However the price for a studio apartment is still reasonable, and rent shouldn't be that much.

Toronto would be an ideal choice.
