POLICE cars are being fitted with 'black box-type' data recorders in a bid to reduce the number of accidents involving them.

"The boxes are a bit like speed cameras. People don't necessarily like them but they are effective in making drivers drive more carefully."

I noticed a police car down the street has three black boxes on the roof with a dim red flashing light does anyone know what they are?????
