Where can you get that tooth powder that dental hygenists use for teeth cleaning?
I use a herbal tincture that I rub on my gums to keep them tight and prevent periodontal disease. The tincture leaves some discoloring on my teeth near the gum line.

The only thing that gets my teeth clean is the quarterly cleaning I get at the dentist. I have tried brushing my teeth with baking soda, and with Dr. Bronner's soap as recommended on this forum. They both do a good job of cleaning off bacteria, but neither remove the discoloring.

What homemade remedies are there to remove the discoloring or is there a source for that tooth powder the dental hygenist uses? I have a herbal tooth powder from Dr. Christopher's herbs but it's not the same thing; when I use it to brush my teeth it leaves them more discolored than with the tincture!

All regular toothpastes have glycerine, which causes bacteria to stick to the teeth. I use Dr. Bronner's soap and baking soda in lieu of toothpaste. They do a good job of getting rid of the bacteria, but I also use the tincture because it tightens up my gums.

But there have been times where I've gona long periods of time without using the tincture where I ran out of it or just forgot to do it, and my teeth still did develop discoloring over time, albeit more slowly. I would just like to eliminate that $100 tooth cleaning with some kind of product to use at home that will leave my teeth looking as clean and fresh as when I get them cleaned.

Try typing "teeth" in the search box up above. Archives are brimming with threads started with almost the same question as yours.

Ewww. You use Dr. Bronner's to brush your teeth? I recall that fateful experience. Peppermint Bronner soap, how bad can it be, I thought, it's minty...right? The shit left my mouth with this nasty ass soapy, off base mint/chemical flavor. Never again. You are strong. Hey, have you ever tried Tom's Cinnamint and myrrh toothpaste? It's great for keeping teeth white.

Dr. Bronners LIQUID soap still has GLYCERINE!!
Do you use Dr. Bronners solid bar soap for your teeth? That would make more sense.
Also, try a few drops of grapefruit seed extract on a moist tooth brush for brushing - it removes a lot of plaque.
It is impressive that you puruse the correct way to clean your teeth.
Also look into scraping your tongue.

Question authority every time. Ask them how that makes them feel. Ask them why? Ask them when you have an opinion with your opinion and question them with that! There is no being with ALL THE answers accept for God. Even still question. But trust if it's all good and loving then follow with your full heart believing. For the light will always be the light. It makes me a believer.

Aughhhhh, I read the label (which isn't easy to do, lol) and see that it says, "...coconut oil and olive oil (with retained glycerine)..."

Damn.

I already do the tongue scraping. I'll try your grapefruit seed extract, thanks.

Thank you, but this appears to be a gum mouthwash, similar to what I already buy from the dentist, "The Dental Herb Company's Tooth and Gum Tonic." And the tincture I was rubbing on my gums is Dr. Schulze's Tooth and Gum Formula, the one that was discoloring my teeth.

Hey OP, read about Oil Pulling on this 9 page thread about it

Thread: **OIL PULLING** - STRONGER, WHITER TEETH!!

It's great, it makes your teeth so white and clean! All it is, is taking some sunflower oil (some use sesame oil) and swishing it around in your mouth for a while every day. It cleans your teeth really well, amazingly. It's an Ayurvedic practice from India.

There's a section about it at Earth Clinic too:

[link to www.earthclinic.com]

you can search for it there.

Thanks, believe it or not, I had been doing that too but didn't really see any change in my teeth. I was using sesame oil and did it for a few weeks.

baking soda and grapefruit seed extract will eat the enamel off of your teeth.

And all soap has glyerin. It's part of the soap making process. Even ToothSoap has it.

My aunt is over 90 and she has all her own teeth which are in superb condition. All her life, she's used sodium bicarbonate and soot (she has a coal fire, but wood soot is equally as good).
