The basic theory behind Sugar Therapy is that concentrated sugar draws out & absorbs any moisture surrounding it, as in a hygroscopic effect. In so doing, it draws the moisture out of micro-oganisms in contact with it through a type of osmotic action. This actually dehydrates the microbes.

The dehydrated microbes cannot thrive, and they cannot reproduce. Their impact on tissues is then negated. This neutralization of the microbes then allows the wound to heal naturally.
