Just let em die because they were not self sufficient? The answer will come from the Austrian School of Economics. Return the Value of the money and people will become self sufficient practically over night. They will not need those government programs that you think we "need". You will not be living paycheck to paycheck because your first paycheck will have real value ! You will be able to save for when a real need arises. |

Yes but, what do you do during the transition to such a system, such a transition to a new economic model will take at least a decade or more if the global economy doesn't recover. Just cut everything and let em die because of your economic model? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 617287Just cut everything and let em die because of your economic model? Its not because of an Austrian Economic model... its the fault of the previous failed model. Besides nobody has to starve to death and it would not take a decade. You are being totally irrational. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 251540 Ireland 02/18/2009 05:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | All of this spending doesn't actually help people. That's the first false assumption. FDR's policies prolonged Depression by 7 years, UCLA economists calculate "We found that a relapse isn't likely unless lawmakers gum up a recovery with ill-conceived stimulus policies." "Ironically, our work shows that the recovery would have been very rapid had the government not intervened." [link to newsroom.ucla.edu] It looks like spending will once again cause millions if not billions to suffer. Cures for Our Economic Disease I have recently had several opportunities on various news programs to discuss the economy and what is wrong with the so-called economic stimulus package. I have said over and over what we shouldn’t be doing, and now I’d like to explain what we should be doing. [link to www.house.gov] It's going to be very bad no matter what. The only issue is whether to get it over with quickly or drag it out for many years with a possible complete collapse. The same people saying we need to spend our way out are the same people who got us into this mess. Clueless then and clueless now. Only when it comes to government do people hold the strange notion you should spend yourself out of debt. Apparently the laws of reality don't apply here. Living within your means. What an outlandish concept. |
