Believe it or not, it is a FACT that almost ALL women in an abusive relationship will do everything in thier power THEMSELVES to hide it!
They say they are trapped, but in all honesty many look for an abusive relationship. And many do thier part in instigating the abuse too.

It's really not as simple as just the big evil man vs. the poor little defenseless woman. Even though it's an easy sell for the biased media and makes for better hollywood.

I have interceded a few times upon seeing abuse with family and neighbors, once I was attacked by the WOMAN!! Other times she would go straight back, and start badgering right away again, trying to rile him up again.

I think before you ask "Are you a wife beater?", you need to deifine the term, or at least what you think it is. There's a wide ranging spectrum of situations where the term could, or could not, be applied.

I think when people hear the term wife beater, they assume that you are talking about a habitual abuser of women. The type of guy who will routinely assult his wife (or other women) just to assert his dominance, or "keep her in line". But just for arguments sake, some clarification would be nice.

It's funny how people in general (and even just on this site alone) consider themselves open-minded or critical thinkers, but when it comes to this issue they don;t hesitate to slap on the "I would never hit a woman no matter what" blinders. I was raised not to hit women, as many of you were, but look, women, like men, are people, and sometimes people need a couple of smacks to keep them in check.Think about it, most of you know someone who could, for lack of a better term, "use a good beating".

I personally think the "I would never hit a woman no matter what" approach is not the smartest choice, and I would go so far to say that anyone who thinks like this is either:

a) Lying to make themselves look good in front of the ladies (snicker if you will, but guys do it all the time)

b) living in la-la land

c)has never been on the receiving end of years of psychological, emotional, verbal and sometimes physical abuse from women

I advocate proportionate retaliation, to an extent. Men are generally stronger tham women so I think they need to cap it somewhere...there's no need to beat the ever living crap out of a woman.

However, if a woman smacks you in the face, smack her back! She punches you in the face? Punch her back! (no need to use full force, remember we are the stronger sex) She comes at you with a weapon? Knock that bitch out!

Also, not the wisest idea....think about it, some guy smacks you up and you cut his dick off...you really think he's going to say "Oh I just got what I deserved", or "I better not mess with that chick again"?
