Any gay should have the right to "marry" in a legal sense. Those men and women can make their own decisions concerning that, and should not be denied that right.

What Pat fears, I think, is that "people" (if they can be called such) such as pedophiles will begin clambering for the right to commit their atrocious crimes without legal repercussion... and perhaps even go so far as to have the right to "marry" children and animals.

Imagine a world where a pedophile is allowed to take custody of a child, and use them as they please, with no legal repercussion... or to own a pet and be allowed to use them in a similar manner, also with no legal repercussion.

I think that Pat is correct, in a way... once the true freaks of society see that gays are allowed equal rights, they will follow up with similar cases.

I'm somewhat confident that society still retains enough moral sensibility not to allow such things to come to pass... and yet, I can't help but feel that the sheer naivete of modern society could lead to those things as well.

I suppose we'll see soon enough... though, I fear that what we see may frighten many of us.

I can understand this sentiment... but on the other hand, gays can make conscious decisions to partake in such activities with each other. The decision is totally mutual on their behalves, which should be recognized I think.

Children and animals, on the other hand, have no say in such a matter. If someone has it with an animal or a child, it is rape, as the child nor the animal cannot make such a decision.

It can indeed be argued that gays are "freaks" in a sense, but people who have it with children and animals are rapists, pure and simple. They are criminals, and should be treated as criminals.

The day when these people are not treated as criminals, but are treated instead as equals, is the day that society should be destroyed.

If you are for gay marriage, How are going to argue that you can't have five wives? If you can marry someone of the same sex, why can't they marry 10 guys at the same time?
