IMHO, Clyde Lewis is close (check out his Ground Zero radio show and podcast), but he's not on C2C. George seems a little too condescending to me, and he always talks over the guests and laughs at his own jokes, which I find annoying... Just my 2 cents! |

Mr. Predictor Senior Forum Moderator User ID: 1032780 United States 03/03/2013 08:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | the main problem with George is that he just isn't very smart he can't ask intelligent questions or any kind of followup he never seems to do any prep, he is obviously just asking canned questions that the quest sent to him Wells isn't any better concerning his background knowledge of the subjects Knapp is the best technical interviewer today and Clyde is the best concerning the supernatural "If there is a new fascism, it won't come from skinheads and punks; it will come from people who eat granola and think they know how the world should be." - Brian Eno |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 24797199 United States 03/03/2013 08:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | why ?? reasons or facts please ?! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 683569he seems to be a OK guy so just saying....... I listen every morning and thought his shoe was great until a couple of days ago.. He had a caller that was debunking time travel with valid theory.....Norry cut him short and disconnected the call. The next caller seemed very intelligent as well and all Norry did was try and derail the caller then cut the call short and went on to the rest of the show... I still like the program but am paying more attention to what he is doing when someone of intelligence calls in. If a loony calls in he gives them a lot of time to try and sound sane. C2C is entertainment, not news. His job is to entertain, to take you on a journey. . . |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 36017046 United States 03/12/2013 06:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I lost all respect for him when I realized one of his main sponsors was one of those work-from-home MLM job scams, and George would try to con his audience into joining. I won't mention the company's name. You can easily look it up. When I emailed him about it, he never responded and I suppose he put me on his ignore or spam list. Over time, I came to realize that George is nothing more than a con man who learned his trade from the Long John Nebel school of broadcasting, bringing on these supposed PHD's who talk about bizar events that can never be proven nor disproven. And those 2 songs played on his show all the time, "Listening To Coast To Coast" and "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" have got to be 2 of the cheeziest songs I have ever heard, in my opinion! |
La Listener User ID: 35848168 United States 03/31/2013 02:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | "When Your Lover Has Gone" by Frank Sinatra What good is the scheming, the planning and dreaming That comes with each new love affair The dreams that we cherish, so often might perish And leaves you with castles in air When you’re alone, who cares for starlit skies When you’re alone, the magic moonlight dies At break of dawn, there is no sunrise When your lover has gone What lonely hours, the evening shadows bring What lonely hours, with memories lingering Like faded flowers, life can’t mean anything When your lover has gone Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen. ~Winston Churchill It takes two to speak the truth - one to speak and another to hear (listen).~Thoreau |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 37067321 United States 03/31/2013 02:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | He came across like a dick sometimes... I fall asleep to C2C almost nightly... and whenever a persons phone is EVEN JUST SLIGHTLY messing up... George has a panic attack. I always look forward to when someones phone has a click or statitic it drives him NUTS "Uh, John," he says to the person, "Your phone is cutting a little.... on the break please switch to a different phone." It's as if the show must keep flowing - he reminds me of a control freak. and if god forbid the persons phone messes up more than twice. BAM. Drops him. "Okay, open lines!" and yeah, he is a lightweight... "So tell me - Was it the ALIENS?" Ho Ho Ho. Pretend everyone he talks to has an IQ of 95 - he is quoted as saying. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 7894944 United States 04/04/2013 08:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | George has a good set of pipes and knows the business aspect of radio very well. However, he does not have on-air talent. When Art used to have interviews he would many times allow the interviews to run into the breaks b/c the conversation had achieved a certain depth. George's conversations are as shallow as the kiddie pool. I suspect that he has someone write questions for him and he simply reads them off note cards. In the hundreds of interview that I have heard between George and a guest, I have never once heard one go beyond two volleys. The vast majority of times Georges' response is as though he does not listen to what his guest had just said. This is why I belief he uses note cards. Quoting: dog_breath23 8912362 One of the reason that he never runs over into commercial breaks is b/c of this lack of depth. It is easy to keep a child from drowning in a puddle. Please George, either resign or get promoted to some television job. You know that you would prefer a daytime television position. There is no shame in it, you would make a great station manager and you have made a fortune in the last five years. There is shame however in pedaling this corporate BS as quality radio. Allow the night owls some entertaining radio. George knows, and most other know. that the only reason C2C is doing so well is because there is no competition. Please George move on. You are not a bad person, and you have skills, just not on-air radio talent. What are you talking about? George can barely speak due to his birth defect. [link to www.youtube.com] |

I'm never up that late to listen to him, but I catch the end of his show from time to time when I work early. He is a decent enough guy and I believe hes very genuine. The problem is that he took over for Art Bell one of the legends of late night talk shows. The funny thing is I think Art had some pretty phony guests through the years and played up to peoples fears. However it was entertaining as all hell. That is where George loses points some shows are so boring its easy to change the channel to sports talk instead. When Art was there that never happened the more goofy the subject the more entertaining it was. lol |
Ryan Cawdor User ID: 33180246 United States 04/04/2013 11:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There is no real passion with the show when it comes to GN. He does not prep well for interviews. No passion what so ever. Just a going through the motions and doing as little as possible to make things work. No passion what so ever, that is why I don't even bother listening anymore, because I already know it will be boring, the questions asked will be lame. There is no feeling that, oh I must listen, or of boy I need to listen to C2C tonight. It's the passion and the desire to do not just a good show, but a great show. This has not happened with GN and the show is not going to change anytime soon with GN at the helm. I don't hate the guy, but he was certainly the wrong choice for going forward with C2C. To GN it is just a job, but with Art, it was a passion and it's totally understandable why people are not happy with George being the host. Seriously GN sounds half asleep most of the time and completely disinterested in what the guests are saying. He simply does not care and has no passion. |
