Imagine an army of GLPers. Can you imagine what commanding that sort of fighting force would be like? Herding cats lacks the proper metaphorical weight, unless all the cats are currently in heat and given low-dose LSD.

Being in command of a well-organized force is almost a sexual feeling. You give orders and they get done, smartly and cohesively. Everyone comes home alive and in a damn good mood.

Having your command break down is a painful experience. A few people who do not bother to listen or question your orders, and invariably one guy starts issuing orders of his own. People get slaughtered like ducks.
