i thought something like this would happen as the ancient mayans and summerians have texts about an alien race called the annunaki which is believed to have come from the planet nibiru, planet nibiru is supposed to be the planet of the crossing that is in a funny orbit and crosses between mars and jupitur every 3500 years or so, the mayans where supposed to have texts on the annunaki giving them the advances of the mayan calander which is believed to end in 2012, roughly 3500 after the calander was created... so i believe that the calander does not predict the end of the world but gives us an heads up of the next encounter with the annunaki

I wish i new just one or two answers, but i do not. Im guessing that this "thing" thats going to happen is something which non of us have even come close to proposing.
