I hear that the Mormon girls don't drink alcohol or do drugs, but they love flat backin'. Is this true?
Fishing and skiing keeps me a little sane.

It's Moroni as in moron. He's the bugle bearer waiting to blow his horn when jesus returns.

Women are women regardless of being mormon, but the church is good a programming them to only do it when married to their returned mishys and only in proper positions. By the way, their prescription drug use (mostly for depression, understandably) is higher than the rest of the population.

There are known tunnels under the church/convention center downtown. I don't know how elaborate they are. I'm not mormon/temple worthy to know these things, but I work with mormons that have told me they exist. I've hiked to the church vaults built high/deep in the LCC mountains.

Don't know where Hatch gets his juju, but has been connected to inner circles of highlevel mormons and DC politics for a long time. BTW, his son is a major corporate lobbyist in DC too. It must be illumanati juju.

Their holy garments are used to protect them from evil spirits. In my opinion, it's just another vehicle for the church to make money, in that they have to buy the church's authorized garments ($$$). As far as I know, they can't just make their own. It is very strange living here, especially in the summer, in that these garments show under everything. There are a lot of jack mormons that do not wear them.

I work in the SLC downtown area so, yes, I walk to and fro around temple square a lot. It's a beautiful area, well manicured, with very pretty water works (my favorite part). The use of water coming out of city creek canyon to fill the water ways around there is amazing.

I think the church would say they are too sacred to be displayed to the uninitiated. In my opinion, he never displayed them because they do not exist. I have a feeling that many mormons believe they will be chosen to see them if they make it up the ranks eventually (if they are still in cumorah? and where exactly is hill cumorah?). Part of the carrot dangling constantly in front.

Mormons are taught/raised to be highly suspicious of outsiders. Outsiders, especially in Utah, more especially if your an apostate (ex-mormon) are shunned.

It is usually shunning in a passive way. For example, not being included in meetings at work, given less or nothing to do by management (I have had no managers that weren't mormon). Not being included in neighborhood functions. Don't get me wrong, there are a few non-ex-mormons that do not follow these patterns, but where I am it's still the majority.

I would think the only reason you would care, is if you have some interest in the culture of the Morridor west, specifically Utah.

If you have no interest in that, you shouldn't care at all.

Nope = Not it, the prices of all church materials is at cost or slightly less to keep them affordable. Deseret book and others are privately owned and are for profit, but they don't sell official church materials.

Are the mormons friendly or accepting tolerant of other churches in the area? Any idea?

Because i heard a door knocker talking that it was dangerous and that door to door missionaries often disappear in that region. It's what he said.

I beg to disagree, Deseret Book is a wholly owned subsidiary of Deseret Management Corporation, the holding company for business firms owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Anyway, regardless of the cost of the garments, it's still money going out of the cult members pockets into the cults coffers. Solid income for the church.

Hah, I have also lived in Utah for the past 4 years. Illinois is my home state, and I am actually back here in the Chicagoland area. But when I lived in Utah it was funny to note the cultural differences. There are a lot more "gorgeous" people out in SLC than the midwest, lol.

Yeah, I noticed most of them get married before they're 20 and start popping out the babies right away. I couldn't believe how many people seemed so ANXIOUS to get married and start having kids! I would just think "What's the hurry??"

I think the reason why most of them are depressed is because of this. That and the fact that an unusual amount of the locals have never been skiing! I met a bunch of people who never went in their life, yet being only 30 minutes away. The mountains and canyons are just gorgeous, so relaxing and soothing.

They are very "Step-forded." When I rented a house in the suburbs, I actually got brought cookies and brownines, and the book of Mormon of course. But everyone was so nice.

I liked living in the city way more. I worked for the City Weekly, and walked to worked everyday. I would pass through the temple square everyday to and from work and wonder about the tunnels underground, what their Masonic rituals were like, and satanic stars all along the outside of the church.

All that aside, Utah is one of America's best kept secrets. The terrain is the coolest in the country, IMO, and the people are nice too and generally leave you alone. The Mormons are generally accepting, I just hated the liquor laws...

city weekly.. cool, did you know bill frost? he wrote a nice piece on my local released cd...

i've lived all over slc... now out by alpine... talk about a stepford town.. there is a big masonic clock tower in the center with compass on it.. the mormon families there are stupidly rich... but they're kids are all f'd up. we are not mormon.. my kids never have gotten in trouble, especially with drugs and drinking... but their mormon friends and peers are a mess in alpine ... ecstacy, heroin, all night raves on coke, stealing beer, stealing in general...and on and on... and they're all rich.. but waaaayyy disfunctional ...

the tunnels under the city... lots of wild stories about those ... aliens and reptilian tales. Also have lived in a lot of haunted houses here, and whole neighborhoods haunted--visual and auditory evidence my whole family has experienced...

They are building a massive National Security Agency headquarters out just west in the desert, somewhat near the bio-weapon labs i think (dugway). There already seems to be too much mind control here--bound to get worse. But lovely terrain indeed from the alp-like mountains to the desert, to the lakes, to the red rock..

sorry, too much information ....
