My mom told me I had my tonsils removed and ear canal surgery when I was 2 and a half years old and when I was seven years old. I still have my tonsils. I guess they grew back. both times.

I vaguely remember reading the Curious George goes to the hospital book and remember bugging the nurses with the buzzer for lots of popsicles. I think.

I was taken to the hospital basement... Cannot remember what was there though.

Some of this is by our own design, you know. Out of step with the rest of the world...our families (unless there were multiple members with this issue), our friends, our workmates. WAY ahead of the pack.

I found this on the internet and I think you should all read it. I don't know if anyone has posted it before. It is not about the program, just about mentally gifted people in general but I find it quite interesting. I think that there you'll find the reason why so many of us have listed similar things. Of course it doesn't explain everything, not the underwater breathing dream for example ;), but it does explain a lot.
However, it does not explain why you don't have any or only a few memories about the program which I still find a bit odd. That's one thing that would be interesting to find out.

ok, i'll admit, i had problems with math. straight As in math til 9th grade. even when i was misbehaving and not trying, i still did great in math...until algebra showed up. i have a major block against algebra. even in college, it was a huge hurdle. it has literally been the one and only thing in my life that i have tried and not done well in. its my kryptonite.

Project MK-ULTRA, or MKULTRA, was the code name for a covert CIA interrogation research program, run by the Office of Scientific Intelligence. This official U.S. government program began in the early 1950s, continuing at least through the late 1960s, and it used United States citizens as its test subjects.[1][2][3] The published evidence indicates that Project MK-ULTRA involved the surreptitious use of many types of drugs, as well as other methods, to manipulate individual mental states and to alter brain function.

Project MK-ULTRA was first brought to wide public attention in 1975 by the U.S. Congress, through investigations by the Church Committee, and by a presidential commission known as the Rockefeller Commission. Investigative efforts were hampered by the fact that CIA Director Richard Helms ordered all MK-ULTRA files destroyed in 1973; the Church Committee and Rockefeller Commission investigations relied on the sworn testimony of direct participants and on the relatively small number of documents that survived Helms' destruction order.[4]

Although the CIA insists that MK-ULTRA-type experiments have been abandoned, 14-year CIA veteran Victor Marchetti has stated in various interviews that the CIA routinely conducts disinformation campaigns and that CIA mind control research continued. In a 1977 interview, Marchetti specifically called the CIA claim that MK-ULTRA was abandoned a "cover story."[5][6]

On the Senate floor in 1977, Senator Ted Kennedy said:

To this day most specific information regarding Project MKULTRA remains highly classified.[8]

What was interesting to me is the switch.

At one point it was "Gifted Programs", scholarships and decent rides to good colleges.


At some point everything shifted to doors closing. Instead of being used IN the system, the system wanted to keep certain individuals OUT of the system.

Now certain doors shut instantly and certain aspects are evident in "systemic encounters".

Thinking on the water a bit...do you guys have overwhelming urges to jump in fountains? Whenever you see clear water do you feel compelled to somehow get your body in it? I've always had that issue. If I gave in to that desire I'd probably be charged with disorderly conduct on a regular basis.

The program I was involved in was at several schools that I attended, even military school.
The programs revolved around speed reading using a machine called a tachistoscope.
I became an astoundingly fast reader.
