Message Subject "A woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars." -- Who is she, and who is her son?

2 interpatiions

1. The woman is Israel & Jesus is the son

2. The woman is the church & Jesus is the son

I had always went for #1, but Irenaeus a disciple of Polycarp who was a disciple of the Apostle John(who wrote revelation) says #2 is correct

----------

Both are wrong. We must go according to the written word.

The women about to give birth is awaited by the beast with ten horns and seven heads the one that is yet to come (666), therefore, it is IMPOSSIBLE that this male son caught up to GOD and his throne be Jesus.

Revelation 12

3 -- Then another sign appeared in the sky; it was a huge red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and on its heads were seven diadems.

4 -- Its tail swept away a third of the stars in the sky and hurled them down to the earth. Then the dragon stood before the woman about to give birth, to devour her child when she gave birth.

Your confusing symbols... the dragon is satan as is plainly stated in verse 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan

Yes, and with seven heads and ten horns, and on its heads were seven diadems.

We know that this beast is yet to come and will hate the Harlot (USA) and at some point in the nearby future will consume her flesh and burn her with fire,(Rev.17:16) -- so it can't be JESUS

And only one person fits the man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

So who is the child?

Verse 11 makes it clear And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Okay, fine, but who is the child?

As I stated earlier I'll trust what men who knew John the Apostle and what they were taught by him not a private interpretation

Not me, I trust saint John and not men who told you they knew John, that's why I quote from the written word. Thanks.

Hey I'm 100% sola scripture myself, but it behoves us to listen to the men John personally instructed..you say you only use the word, thats great then you should know the phrase used "the man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron" is also ref in the Psalm 2(I didn't post the entire Psalm for sake of space)

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel

Its obvious the above refers to Christ Jesus as does Rev.12:5

But I see you by your other posts you deny that Jesus is Lord? If I'm wrong please correct me. Otherwise yes you are giving a private interpretation, which happens when one does not let Scripture interpert Scripture
