as gross as it feels to agree with anything mathetes posts because I realize he is only trying to incite racial hatred (islamophobia), I do agree with banning the burka.

It is not good for the host country if the new immigrants do not assimilate. I am an immigrant myself and strive to assimilate to my host country. If I wanted the culture of my home country, I should return to it NOT try to impose it on my new country.

Immigrants have a duty to assimilate to the new culture or leave.

many banks now refuse people who are wearing
any type of head and face covering
and that includes veils, hats,head scarfs,
sunglasses, hooded jackets etc.
Security gets called and you either
remove the covering
or get escorted out of there.

Good for them. Citizenship is an honor, not a right. I've never been a Francophile, but at least they are actually being consistent.

This guy's wife was in france so she could have easily left him if she wanted to, especially with a french passport.

The truth this is not about protecting women or the "European Judaeo-christian" identity (whatever that is). It's about oppressing any expressions unrelated to western culture by the minority muslim population, which people in the west have been fearing and loathing since 9/11.

This ban, if it passes, would go against the natural right of people to practice their religious beliefs as they may see fit. While the way a burqa appears may not be the most appealing, it certainly does no one harm when it's worn by a consenting adult.

That man did not commit a crime. She is his wife and this is their private relationship. Denying him citizenship is going to cause her problems as much as it's going to cause him problems.

He doesnt put a veil on other people's wives, how can others demand that his wife take hers off.

I think that the reason that some people on this forum support this action is because they believe in female supremacy, especially if they only proclaim unilateral approval without providing a supporting logically-valid argument.

So many on this site complain about the limiting of personal freedoms in the USA such as gun laws, but love to see people "not like them" having there freedoms limited. How about this we ban Muslims and with them gone we ban all guns in the USA that way I feel safer as well.
