Re: Why don't Freemason's speak?
There are very few secrets - very few. A person with the ability to learn and comprehend can research from many resources freely available and learn most of the "secrets".
The Freemason doesn't become enlightened all at once from participating in some rituals. There is always much to learn - but more than that there is much to UNLEARN. Masonry provides a path and a foundation and has earned the respect it receives.
Those little people who condemn without researching and throw accusations out of fear are the best justification for secrecy. It is a good feeling to be able to relax around people who you know you can trust and who are honorable and trustworthy. As a Mason you have friends everywhere in the world. A Christian - Muslim - Jew - Budhist - Zoroastrian etc. will all sit together as friends and brothers in the Lodge. Not too many other places like that.
