Disney's "The Lion King"

It was released in 94. Apparently, it was a rip off of a similar japanese animation called "Kimba, the white lion" or something.

regardless, it is the message that I found important.

I can't remember the film to be honest. I have watched it long ago and from what i remember it was good.

Love the Lion King movie. Reminds me of when my kids were little.

It is a movie about redemption. The forces of evil had buried a young soul under guilt, forcing him to retreat from his calling into a life of idle existence and leisure. Only after his past found him and convicted him of his higher purpose was he able to face his guilt and accept his role as heir to a kingdom. In facing his past and his guilt, he found absolution and restored the kingdom by letting evil be destroyed by its own weaknesses.

Some kid in our school got molested watching that in the movies. Pretty fucked up movie to do it to.... it;s messed up anyway but... jesus.

I have always felt a connection with this movie. I went to see it in Theaters at the age of 20. Something about being called to who we are truly meant to be. To go beyond our internal struggles that hold us back.

Great film.

My favorite scene is when the spiritual advisor of the movie asks smacks the main character upside his head with a stick.
Main character: "Why did you do that?"
Advisor: "It doesn't matter. It's in the past."
Main character: "But that hurt!"
Advisor: "Yes, the past can hurt"

I believe the question the movie asks is.... Do you know who you are?

that is a great scene. It reminds us that even though we may be on a wrong path, we have the option to use our free will to change directions and become redeemed. Sometimes it takes a whack on the head to understand.

Guess what? There is evil in the world. Live so as not to be apart of it. Mistakes will be made, but just because you stump your toe doesn't mean you will lose your foot.
