Re: I am a practicing Chaos Magician. Ask me a question!
Ailurophile- I wouldn't know, I've never practiced a Dark Art. Since the beginning, I've had a rather Taoist view of the balance of the universe. I could comfortably say that there is no such thing as "good" or "evil", but there is certainly a balance between negativity and positivity that must be maintained for reality to operate. This balance has been swayed toward negitivity for far too long, and thus I only trade in positivity these days. As for what I DO do, the only repercussions have been growth, love and harmony.

Atom Jaay- I only recently decided to experiment in the spiritual and holistic effects of hallucinogens, after being convinced for years that they would slow or derail my growth. I have not yet had a chance to ingest any hallucinogenic tryptamine alkaloids, although I plan to commune with the mushroom goddess soon. I do have a very good relationship with salvia divinitorium and hashish.

AC1 - I understand this. Any info you want on the Yogiraj is probably here [link to hamsa-yoga.org]

1111er- I couldn't tell you but I know it's mine.

AC2- Great! Get rid of a few other beliefs and you'll be on to a great start.

Re: I am a practicing Chaos Magician. Ask me a question!
"Yes, the mantras have a meaning associated to them, and the meaning is embedded in the mantra such that you can't just chant the same mantra at everything with differing intent and expect results"

OK so what is it....? 1st you say mantras have no meaning and now you say they do..!!??

The meaning is not embedded in the mantra...they have simple meanings, usually associated with the God/Goddess they are associated with.

Mantras that are not associated with the Devatas (gods/goddesses) also have simple meanings, such as:

Aham Brahmasmi (I am Brahman)

and so many others, remember mantras where written in a launguage that has meaning. The power in the mantras is that it allows one to associate with Brahman, as all the Gods/Goddesses are Brahman...even in the school of Advaita where the absolute is formless,. still the Devatas are worshipped with their mantras.

Re: I am a practicing Chaos Magician. Ask me a question!
OP, what did you mean in your original post about martial arts?

I am a martial artist, but not a magician.

Is there a physical martial art attributed to chaos magic, or are you referring to a mystic martial art.

Thanks.

Re: I am a practicing Chaos Magician. Ask me a question!
Wrong again, there are certain mantras (ritualistic mainly) that need to have absolute correct pronuciation. The Mantras associated with the various Devatas do not have such strict consideration, of course they should be pronounced as best as possible..but the rules are not as strict

I'm glad you have the confidence to stand up for what you believe. However, my point was that the whole "The path to enlightenment is THIS particular mantra, THIS particular pronunciation, with THIS meaning and THIS usage" paradigm is flawed. In fact, it may have begun as a scam to keep the gurus fed and the priests in golden temples, in my opinion.

AC1- My whole life, if you want to get all philosophical and metaphysical. Sticking to the clearly defined linear interpretation, 6 years. I'm a spring chicken. But I have studied the occult in general for over 21 years on and off.

READMOREBOOKS- Pretty good, I'm gay.

AC2- Nope. I'm pretty far from what you are calling enlightenment.

Barbi- You, me, and Slaanesh, 2:30?

AC3 -I didn't need anything, I just thought it would be nice. It was.

AC4- You can delete posts? I've never done such.

You fail Beatles forever. I didn't mean that literally, I meant what the line means.

I'm not making any sweeping generalizations about the usage of mantras in the cultures that spawned them, or anywhere for that matter. I understand what you are saying perfectly, I am only sharing what has worked for me. Also, I'm curious if you think that the meaning in the mantra is set in stone, even if the person speaking it has been trained for years that it means something quite different?

As for martial arts, I was drawn to chaos magic in particular because it mirrors the philosophy of Jeet Kune Do, my primary style. I'm just sharing my opinion on things that I am interested in that I also assumed the forum would appropriate.

Very interesting. I also study JKD. I would be interested in the parallels between the two. Any recommended reading?

Re: I am a practicing Chaos Magician. Ask me a question!
Sorry Jaay, I misunderstood.

From the viewpoint of the psychological model, I would say it is a safe bet that most of the really mind-blowing mystical experiences are caused by the release of DMT into the brain while awake, due to the body believing it is asleep or even possibly dying. But from a more spiritual standpoint, I would still say that tryptophan alkaloids are likely a physical representation of purity vibrating at a very high rate.

For a more physical interpretation, I'd send you to Robert Anton Wilson's Prometheus Rising that takes a very body and psychology oriented view of the basic ideas of chaos systems.

If you'd prefer a more energy and spirit based approach, read Advanced Magick for Beginners by Alan Chapman. Both will give you an idea if this is something you ought to study.

Trolling conspiracy forums must make great bedtime talk, too.

In all honesty, it's exactly that kind of thought that causes people to be in so much pain. "Teen Girls" "Gay Men" and "Chaos Magicians" are such wide-ranging demographics to generalize about.

If you are sure that all the Mexicans are illegal, every business owner is out to rip you off and every liberal arts major is a lazy McDonalds worker you might want to remember that you are a member of several pointless divisions as well.

Anyway, I've assisted enough people with their daily E-Peen masturbation, and apparently I'm wrong, so I'm going to bed.

I'm interested in learning more about chaos magick, and "Goth Magick".

Do you create a circle? Do you raise energy? Do you call upon the elementals and the male and female energies of the universe?

Does your magick work? Wicca works, I'm interested in your form of magick because it may teach me more about mine.

Do you agree with...

Revelation Chapter 13...

Ronald (6 letters) Wilson(6) Reagan(6): was the "1st Beast whose actions were opposite of the Christ, was ruler of the world, lied to all nations, and was wounded yet lived"

George(6) Walker(6) Bush Jr.(6): the "2nd Beast whose actions were the opposite of the Christ, he imitated the 1st Beast (Reagan) and made 'fire come down from the heavens' with the 'destruction of Babylon' (War In Iraq)"

United(6) States(6) Dollar(6): the "mark of the Beast that everyone must have to buy or sell with"

- Brad Watson, Miami, FL

I read that Reagan had to change his street address because he lived at #666. - AC
That is correct! When Ron & Nancy bought their ranch in California, the address was 666 St. Cloud (it's public record). Right after purchasing it, they had the address changed to 668 St. Cloud.
 Quoting: Christian

Wow! I googled that and it's correct!! WOW!!!
