Anonymous Coward User ID: 1086528 United States 09/01/2010 07:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Big Pharma knew about this potent cancer fighting from Vitamin D back in the 1980s but they couldn't patent natural compound produced in the skin and tried to come up with analogues but they didn't work quite as good as the natural one. There is a random controlled study where a modest amount (not optimal) reduced 77% risk of getting cancer. That's how powerful free/cheap vitamin D3 is. It's estimated that 80% of USA are deficient and simply correcting it would save us tens of billion of dollars a year in healthcare cost. Health insurance is high enough so we might as well make sure our vitamin D is where it should be to save a lot more money in the long road. www.vitamindcouncil.org www.grassrootshealth.net |

Quoting: Philosophical_LionMakes sense. Your body needs lots of Vitamin D to function as it was designed to. Yet, I've read it's pretty much impossible to ingest enough vitamin D to have any real effect on one's health. And, that the most concentrated and abundant source of Vitamin D is in fact sunlight. This also makes sense: Vitamin D is essential to a healthy body and it is available for free anywhere. Nature works pretty well that. No fucking shit sherlock!! |

Taking vitamin D supplements in effective quantities when you don't have enough sunlight to synthetize your own vitamin D in your skin does make a difference. A huge difference I'd say. Studies have shown people with vitamin D deficiency are much more prone to have extreme symptoms and even increased risk of dying when infected with COVID-19.
