Maybe the goal is to shut the airlines down in order to resrict our travels by keeping us on the ground.

My 2 cents:

I fly on occasion for work, but Saturday I am flying to see a family member. I am not looking forward to the TSA hassle, but its just too far to drive in the time that I have, and I want to spend most of that time with my family member, rather than 3 days each way in a vehicle. I don’t know if I will opt out or not. If I opt out, I am worried that I will get strip searched.

My impression over the years is that they scrape the bottom of the barrel to find TSA workers. Most of them are rude and unprofessional. They give the appearance of being totally uneducated and in general totally incompetent to do the job for which they have been hired. On one occasion, they had trouble correctly identifying a watch, which had been packed in a duffel bag.

I am not unattractive, a tall blonde female with a nice figure, and more than once I have been apparently singled out for a “special search” because I must give off “radical Muslim” vibes. This has been when there were much more aggressive appearing young males who were waved thru without a hitch. Another time when my then seven-year-old son was traveling with me, he was selected to have is little carry-on completely searched by an obnoxious TSA agent who was both rude, unprofessional, and apparently angry at not finding any contraband in his “Disney” suitcase.

Yes, there are bad apples in every barrel, but the TSA seems to have an unusually high number of them. Perhaps if they wish to inspire confidence in the flying public, they might rely less upon technology, and more upon professional training. Professional training that includes courtesy, and respect for others, rather than the animal like behaviors that I have so far observed.

If the TSA is really to function as an agency to protect the flying public, then provide professionals who inspire confidence, rather than a bunch of “brown shirts”, who’s only apparent qualification is a desire to harass and torment the public.

Im curious, what happens when some knuckle head shoves a few ounces of Playdoh up their ass? Do we all now get prostate exams at the airport? Body cavity searches for everyone? Then we all fly in hospital gowns?

Just don't fly. When enough people opt out of flying because of this, then the airlines will suffer, scream broke, the government will have to bail them out, and in the end, maybe then they will realize they created the mess. Stay home and have Thanksgiving with the locals ;-)

I'm wondering how the TSA lackeys feel about molesting folks all day long....feeling people up for an 8 hr shift. I guess they're silent 'cause they don't want to lose their jobs. Which leads me to believe this is a test to see just how much an 'employee' will do to "Just follow orders."

Uh..shouldn't they be doin this at the border instead?

Are the TSA personel scanned? They should be before they start work. Everyday, it should be part of the internal security. Either that, or they get the pat down.... everyday or eachtime they leave the secured area. Anyone know what the protocol is for the agents themselves?

Im planning on going to the airport early and scoping out ALL checkpoints and finding the one that doesnt have the porno scanner... bigger airports cant yet afford to cover all tsa points.

Test it on the sheep to see what health effects hit them.
