hey, i have family members who were forced to fight in vietnam

they told me their real enemies weren't the vietcong but the man who oppressed here at home

none of them wanted to go hunting for "charlie"

they told they were fighting for their rights to at home against an american army that is perceived as the invading army

I never said our Government fought for freedom.

Our men and women do.

You even touched on it in this latest post...

As military people, we are told we are fighting for freedom, and that is the reason most of us enlist, we actually believe in that oath we take, often long after being discharged.

Disrespect the Government all you want, but understand the people who are sent to do the government's bidding (and who come back scarred beyond belief, both physically and mentally).

Don't always have a choice (draft) or haven't yet figured out that Uncle Sam is more powerful than our own idealistic view of freedom.

And, still, if you think it's about White vs. Black, you need to grow up (or do some research, at least).
