Anonymous Coward User ID: 860229 United States 02/04/2011 10:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I really liked The Mothman Prophecies by John Keel. The book is way different than the Hollywood movie, although I did enjoy the movie too. I have been to Point Pleasant, West Virginia twice. I have met with people there, and I still can't figure out how much is true, and how much is fiction. It is a very believable tale of an encounter with the supernatural focusing around a town that experienced an actual disaster. The Silver bridge collapsed during rush hour killing many people. |

It was finished in one sitting for me, I couldn't put it down. Another one that is fiction that has stayed with me forever as a favorite read was Swan Song by Robert McCammon [link to www.amazon.com] Happy Reading! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1192103oh yea...discworld FTW. i just introduced my gf to pratchett...she's hooked. if you like weird tales of the macabre then i'd recommend checking out HP lovecraft. best story by his is "whisperer in the darkness". as the pattern gets more intricate and subtle, being swept along is no longer enough. "There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance- that principle is contempt prior to investigation." -Herbert Spencer |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 860229 United States 02/04/2011 10:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Stand, by Steven King Quoting: Ponzi 737617The Red Dragon (dont know who wrote it)? The Day the universe changed, by Aurthor C Clark Hey, I'm reading The Stand right now! Actually, I like the movie better; the novel is a little over-done. Have you seen King's t.v. drama series about Kingdom Hospital? It's like a supernatural soap-opera, with S.K's quirky sense of humor thrown in. It's addicting as all hell. |
