A friend of mine says he was possessed by Mammon when younger , who forced him into self mutilation, is this possible?

Probably went through a phase back then and doesn't want to really tell you why he did it.

e seemed pretty serious, and scared about it...said he had taken alot of acid when it happened, so I suspect it was a hallucination

I was just re reading the gospel of matthew. The man who was possessed with the "legion" was described as having cut himself with rocks. I think maybe cutting is connected to demon possesion.
In fact all those mentioned whom Jesus cast out demons where described as having hurt themselves in some way (eg the boy who threw himself into the fire/ocean).

My opinion is that of a believer in Christ so it is sure to get comments but I can tell you what scripture says about it.
First of all, the demons all knew who Jesus was and didnt even try to fight him. They just asked for mercy. Christ told them to get out and they did. He told his disciples they could also cast out demons(I think this goes for all followers of christ)

Scripture also describes demons leaving a "house" but if it remains empty they gather others and return, making it (the person) in a worse state.
If a demon is cast out, the "house", meaning the person, must be filled with the Holy Spirit so no demon can return. This is accomplishef by humbling yourself before Christ and accepting him as savior.

The mind will produce entire worlds and choose to live in them instead of the real one. There is a clinical name for this.

Self mutilation is indeed possible, especially if you're an emo teen.

LEGION is hallucinogenic drugs. While full possession is no long possible because of he bestowal of Christ Michael 2000 years ago, using any drugs of this sort can open up the area in the back of your neck and allow temporary manipulation by dark entities, including alcohol people. What do you think it is, when people have personality changes that are noxious and dangerous when they are drunk? I wish you all could get over "demons" as a word for dark entities.

NO, you do not understand the holy spirit. You need not even every heard the name Christ, lets just substitute God for this. Because you Christ believers who do not KNOW tend to misuse Christ when you make it so everyone who did not every hear the word is evil and going to hell. "Demons", can bother people when they use drugs whic manipulate mind or are drunk even if they are godly people. the protective device in the back of ensouled people will let them work under these conditions.

The MORE Godly, of spirit YOU become, you will give up these other behaviors.

Mammon is a demon who is associated with money. Mammmon is also a terrible task master. He will force you to work yourself to death for that almighty dollar. Which is about 99.9% of the world's population now.
