WHO NEEDS A GEOMAGNETIC STORM? There was no geomagnetic storm in Alaska last night. This happened anyway: [link to spaceweathergallery.com]

"We had amazing auroras for over 3 hours non-stop," reports photographer and aurora tour guide Marketa Murray, who took the picture just outside Fairbanks. "It was a night to remember."

At the time of the display, there was no geomagnetic storm in progress. "The solar wind speed was relatively low (380 km/s) and the K-index was only 2," she notes. "But 'B sub Z' was -5 nT, so the auroras appeared."

B sub Z was - 5 nT? In other words, an equinox crack opened in Earth's magnetic field. Solar wind poured in to fuel the display. At this time of year, even weak streams of solar wind can spark bright auroras around the Arctic Circle--no geomagnetic storm required. Stay tuned for more as northern autumn unfolds.

Cracks in the Earth's Shield - The Sky Exploded with Auroras on Sept. 28-29

There were no geomagnetic storms in the last few days, however auroras lit up the sky in Alaska. Spectacular auroral displays also reported from Norway, Finland, Iceland and Canada.

I noticed a couple of articles that were saying that
"...They don't know WHAT caused the huge quake and tsunami
in the Palo, Indonesia region (because there had been
no remarkable reports of solar storms reported.)

However, you can find data on several sites that report
that the Great Quake and tsunami--even more devastating
than the Palo, Indonesia event (but in the same area of
faults) was caused by one of the most energetic gamma ray
bursts on record in 2004.

For some reason there is a trend in mainstream science to
DISREGARD Gamma Ray Bursts as causative factors for quakes
even though there is well documented evidence for them
doing so.

Good site to check for GRBs--usually posting them within
2 or 3 days of the Swift Telescope reports.

We have had 4 strong Gamma Ray bursts in the 4 days since
September 30th...and if you add the 3 from the 24th and 25th
of September, it puts us up to 7 strong GRBs since the 24th.

Seems to me that this up-tick in GRBs giving our planet
and our solar system some added "electrical juice" that
this would more than explain the Indonesian quakes.

Just a heads-up as well...These types of GRB "swarms" can
have definite affects on our health. Headaches, heart
palpitations, digestive issues and even mild strokes are
reported during these GRB events--so be watching your
link (above) if you're feeling these kinds of symptoms.

Looks like a coronal mass ejection (CME). Looks like a backside sunspot may have thrown off a flare and/or CME. It is not earth directed.

I've never seen a CME launch, detach and remain intact as a burning ball of fire. Also, CMEs usually erupt quickly. This thing looks like a new planet being flung into space.

CORONAL CANYON FACES EARTH: A large canyon-shaped hole has opened in the sun's atmosphere, and it is turning to face Earth. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory took this false-color UV picture of the structure on Oct. 4th:

I've looked all over the place for more info on that
plasma release from the sun. I believe strongly that info
on it is being scrubbed from Youtube and other net articles.

This is HUGE SOLAR NEWS and info about it should be all
over the place...So anyone know what this was and how
close to earth facing it is?

I'm concerned because I am highly "energy sensitive"to
all things space weather--I would sure appreciate any
info anyone can provide.

I was shocked that Suspicious Observers didn't even give
it a small "blurb" on his daily updates...but ZIP on his
site as well.
