I Have a Strong Salty Taste in My Mouth & Have Had for about a Week. Anyone else?

Sometimes, this indicates a germ/inflammation in your salivary gland. I got it when a dentist hit the wrong spot when administering a shot.

I had this same issue recently. I was taking Iodoral potassium supplements. I stopped for a couple of days and reduced my dosage and now I'm good. This issue sometimes does arise from too much potassium. If you are a big coffee, tea, or soda drinker, this could also contribute as dehydration is also often a factor in this phenomenon. Make sure you're getting plenty of water.



In the meantime, I bought a tongue scraper (at any drugstore or wally world) and used that to clean my tongue. Then used baking soda and gargled with it too.

It improved within 48 hours.
