Security Council resolution allowing military action in Libya. Mr. Putin condemned the resolution as a “deficient and flawed” document that reminded him of “medieval calls for crusades.” Shortly afterwards Mr. Medvedev called Mr. Putin’s remarks “impermissible.” [link to www.thehindu.com] it's all about coming elections feeding national propaganda Putin is the best man russia ever had and Medvi put the ball right in goal position |

This statement is definitely " Putinese " - that's a word I created to describe Vladimir Putin's way of speaking symbolically, with important hidden meaning. Think about it. Dubya used the same term, crusade, to describe his war on "terror." . Last Edited by AlasBabylon on 03/21/2011 12:43 PM |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1289608 ![]() 03/21/2011 01:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't agree with the "Crusades" analogy ... but it certainly smacks of a resumption of the European Imperialism of the last few centuries. HOW MANY ARAB COUNTRIES ARE INVOLVED IN THE ATTACKS? Most have modern air forces, why aren't those air forces being used to enforce the No Fly Zone? Why ONLY European Countries and the US? HOW MANY ARAB COUNTRIES ARE HELPING TO CHOSE THE TARGETS OF THE ATTACKS? NONE as far as I can tell. Again White Europeans and the US ONLY deciding on who to attack and where to attack in the Middle East ... AGAIN. One can already sense the "Longerm Blowback" that is a likely outcome of this escapade. |
