When's the last time a police helicopter was shot down in the US?

The last time criminals got in the news for shooting down a government helicopter in a non war zone, was that one that went down in Rio a couple years ago. Alot of people came down hard on Rio because they are going to host the Olympics in a few years, and gangs are shooting helicopters out of the air.

Doesn't look good for LA, or the US.

I grew up in beautiful downtown "Ban Nuys"........I mean Van Nuys. Police helicopters were very common...........but this seems like a first. Not surprised it happened in Ban Nuys!!!
