Since WHEN is there only one thread on a subject allowed? You would do better to spend your energy doing research on the topic rather than waste your energy posting rude comments on other threads.

I've lived in west Texas my whole life, I've never experienced this b4!
It sounded like a big rushing wind hit my house and my couch shook
back and forth while I was chillin on it. Went outside and there is no wind at all.
What's weirder is I saw a weird strobe light UFO above my house. 30 minutes prior.abduct

USGS:

Magnitude 4.4 - WESTERN TEXAS
2011 September 11 12:27:45 UTC

Depth 10.3 km (6.4 miles)

Globalincident:

This is very unusual, and at a very shallow depth.
My "Hmmmmmmmm" radar is going off on this one.

Could be a foreshock?

Are they doing any fracking in the area? I know it's a highly active area for gas and oil. Because it is at such a shallow depth, something is very odd here.

Maybe watch to the north and see what is going on in Oklahoma over the next day or two... isn't the fault line through Oklahoma, extending somewhat into Texas?

Thanks for this one OP!

Hey go easy on OP.
He's a good guy and posts a LOT of great info!

The posts were only a minute apart, you guys were likely both typing in the data at the same time, so there is no way "related posts" would have worked. You probably hit the "post" buttons just seconds from one another. It's easy to double post on breaking news. I'm sure people will see your post too.

To hell with the earthquake, I'm more blown away by the fact that I'm not the only GLP'er in the Midland/Odessa area! I'm in Ruidoso, NM for vacation, but so far, family and friends didn't seem to notice.

This is nothing. Any other day it would've been brushed off. Just because it's 9/11 you guys jump at any minor event, even more than usual.

It's a day of mass hysteria and not doom.

Midland, Texas here. Didn't feel a thing. Tons of oil and gas here. Wouldn't be surprised if it was caused by fracking.

Smaller ones have been occuring in that same area for the past few years that I have been monitering, but could have been going on much longer.
That area is loaded with oil wells.
