I have read things like this before.

I sincerely do not know why these craft and peoples have not landed in recent years and made themselves known to the general public.

The following message is very important I believe, It's from 1958, long before the work of Zacheria Sitchin and long before many even knew what an Anunnaki was.

In that report, the Brookings Institution recommended prohibition of disclosure, with a warning against the revelation of the existence of extraterrestrial life to the people of America or the world. Brookings Institution thinkers feared social, economic and religious upheaval would result. The Brookings Institution's conclusions were based on the now famous events, which transpired more than 68 years ago, the public reaction to Orson Wells' radio broadcast of "The War of the Worlds" and the local panic that ensued."

That is "self-serving nonsense". They don't fear social, economic and religious upheaval. Knowledge is power and they fear not having all the knowledge to themselves which would mean they would have to give up some of their power.

As far as "The War of the Worlds" goes....of course people panicked because it said that the aliens were invading and killing everyone. Now if that same radio show said that aliens had landed and offered peace and friendship then it would have been a whole different reaction.
