Complete bollocks. Serious inflation started in Zimbabwe when the reserve bank started to print money to pay war veterans their pensions and disability claims when it turned out that the original fund had been robbed blind by government ministers and their cronies.

Did you know that the current vice president of Zimbabwe was declared 98% disabled by this fund in order to claim a massive payout? Although I suppose that could be true judging by her performance in government.

The Lancaster agreement was based on a willing seller/willing buyer basis with the British government providing the funds for the Zimbabwean government to buy the land. Many of the farms that were later invaded had already received a declaration of 'no interest' by the Zimbabwean government. Meaning the Zimbabwean government was not interested in purchasing the land. Land that was purchased either ended up being requisitioned by Zanu-PF cronies for personal use or ended up lying fallow and unproductive without being redistributed thus prompting the British government (New Labour) to cancel the arrangement. This was wrong, I agree, but its not as if this were the sole cause, or even the primary cause, of the problem.

The Lion of Africa? Mugabe is as bloodthirsty as any occupier. Does slaughtering ten thousand from an opposing tribe make him a lion? No it makes him a genocidal murderer.

True, and were that not bad enough, the countries natural resources are being stripped, the people so poor and needy they are killing off all the animals for bush meat and creating an ecological disaster.
