Yes, I know the Hebrew word for angel, but the OP's question is in reference to the offspring of fallen Malakhim (fallen angels). These offspring are called Nephilim (amongst other names). Their is some scientific evidence that the earth was once covered in a VERY heavy cloud layer and one day, it rained; alot! :)

Nephilim I would also equate with Annunaki, Sumeria being the oldest know culture.

It makes sense, things change a bit as stories are told over time.

I don't know if they survived the flood or not but I don't think they are here now; I mean I've never seen one.
