Scientists have long suspected that one oft-discussed geoengineering technique -- shooting tiny sulfate particles into the upper atmosphere to deflect sunlight -- could turn the blue sky white. Nature has already provided a basic proof of concept. When Mount Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in 1991, spewing tons of sulfate particles in the atmosphere, it temporarily whitened the sky. Now a new study by researchers at the Carnegie Institution for Science attempts to determine just how big the effect from man-made geoengineering would be. |

The only patch of blue I could see, with any distinquishable clouds were to my southeast. It's sunny, and yes indeed, there's a milkiness to the sky here. Central Texas... |

I'm no IT, but I think my flag shows up as US because our ISP is in Virginia. I'm actually in the Mediterranean. It's good to be open-minded, just don't let your brain fall out. |

Quoting: Too Dark Park Out and about earlier, Ive noticed the sky is just so *white*. And I mean that in the most non-racial of ways LOL, but I said to myself "my god, they really are spraying today", all the while thinking also about the sun and its insane fits and freak outs... Where are you at? Is it clear skies for you? Or are you under a veil/haze of whiteness where you are? silvery blue with white fluffy clouds..... hawaii |
