When you consider all the 11 year cycles we have had over the many thousands of years with flares and CME's hitting our magnetic field, HOW MUCH WEAKER is our magnetic field at this time in the history of the planet? This concern has been lost in the shuffle and is probably the answer to why NASA is somewhat concerned in regards to this sun cycle. How powerful of a punch is needed to take out a battered and worn boxer in the 10th round?
