The law will tighten rules on gun permits and create a national firearms register, with strict penalties for owning an unregistered gun.

Now, if you look at the Drinking Driving statistics, there is an error in their calculation that would likely double that number, however, that is for another time.

So, if you draw a conclusion that guns should be illegal, then you should similarly draw the same conclusions about doctors of which there are only around 6 million vs 80 million gun owners, and the same conclusions about beer, whiskey, and automobiles.
