More like he was begging for food for the Baby and some power abusing psychopath decided to lie about it to get him in trouble.

I was riding my motorcycle one day and when I pulled over a girl come up to me and said she was hungry...so I told her I would go across the street and buy her something from the grocery store...when I returned, maybe 5 minutes, she was gone...she wanted money, most likely for drugs...

I personally saw this happen many times in western Alaska and was offered a child by a mother who couldn't afford to raise her. And no, it wasn't an exchange for "crack". It was an attempt by the mother to give baby a fighting chance, a better life with someone who had the financial means. Today, the child that was offered to me is loved, is doing very well in school, and is in contact with her birth mother.

I hear of people spending $30,000 with a adoption agencies when other people in rural areas are giving healthy, beautiful children away. The world can a place of many contrasts and my heart goes out to anyone who gives away their child because of financial circumstances.

It's just sad I tell you. In a country of plenty?

There are some honest bums. I saw one with a sign "I need money for booze." But when a family with kids walked by, he'd turn the sign over and it would say "I need money for food."
