Anti-American protests seen as "tip of the Islamist Iceberg"
snip

In the wake of the deadly attacks on Americans in Libya and disappointment in Washington with Egypt, experts say it’s just the tip of the iceberg of unrest across the Muslim world.

Anti-American protests have spread since Tuesday night when mobs swarmed the U.S. embassy in Cairo and the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, and they show no signs of abating. Protesters say they object to a U.S.-made film that denigrates the Islamic Prophet Mohammed but, behind the lines, a much larger motive has propelled the organizers to take action.

“Make no mistake,” said Barry Rubin, director of the Global Research in International Affairs Center in Israel, “this is a war, not a misunderstanding. It is a battle of ideologies and a struggle for control of state power, not hurt feelings over some obscure video.”

Sunni Islamic extremists in both Libya and Egypt are looking to take control, using the post-revolutionary chaos in both countries to their advantage.

These Islamists, broadly known as Salafi jihadists, did not contest seats in parliamentary elections in July, believing, as they do, that there is only one law, that of God as recorded by Mohammed, and no need for any parliament passing other laws.

“They see Americans as patrons of a regime they don’t like,” the American-born Mr. Rubin said. “They don’t want to thank us for helping liberate them; they want to run us out of the region entirely.”

The protests that now threaten to spread across the Muslim world are the tip of an iceberg, says Alastair Crooke, a former MI6 analyst and specialist in the Islamic world.

if christians believe all their rights are "god-given", why do they bother electing politicians? why don't they ignore the laws and follow their "god-given rights"? the laws they live under are not from God, why should they follow them?

if the christians really think they have "god-given rights", why aren't they doing as the muslims do?

Thats the way our Lord said it would be...

Matt 24:37-39
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Those "folks" are friends I see and visit in everyday life.

I can never have a conversation with them about anything other than what is happening in their personal lives.

They don't know what is going on in the world--even this latest attack in Libya--they don't have a clue.

Sometimes I wonder if they are better off not knowing.

Why does this bring to mind the story of Martha and Mary?

Re: Anti-American protests seen as "tip of the Islamist Iceberg"
Why Islam Should NOT Be Protected Under the US Constitution!

Contrary to conventional stupidity, Islam should NOT be protected under the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America. Is there anyone left in the three branches of government today that can interpret our most sacred document (the Declaration of Independence not withstanding) correctly?

Like in Christendom, where the exegesis and hermeneutics of certain passages of scripture are often skewed to conform to a particular ideology, agenda, or belief system, so too has the clear and concise language of the Constitution and the 27 Amendments progressively undergone exegetical attacks over the decades—depending on which party is in power—to conform to a particular political ideology.

But this is one hermeneutical battle America can ill afford to lose. Our founding principles, i.e. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness hang in the balance. In short—our country’s very survival depends on it.

America faces a grave threat from Islam. Muslims are infiltrating our country in droves and they’re doing it under the guise of “Constitutional Protection.” And like England, if we don’t stand our ground now, it will be too late.

Muslims are cunning, crafty and clever.

They’re using our ignorance of the understanding of our own Constitution against us, and they are clandestinely and methodically spreading their freedom-snatching tentacles in a quiet and unassuming manner.

Federal, state, and local governments on the other hand won’t acknowledge the imminent threat. They incorrectly claim that Muslims have “Constitutional Rights” to come here, proselytize people, build mosques, and implement Shariah Law in their communities and in the public square.

They’re dead wrong! And by and large, Islam is getting away with it just like they have in Europe. Only unlike in Europe and Great Britain in particular, where many local non-Muslim citizens now live in perpetual fear and oppression, it’s not too late to stem the tide, but we have to act now.

Time is not on our side.

In fact, this may come as a shock, but there are more mosques being built on American soil than Christian churches. We are already well under way to being Islamized.

To understand Islam is to understand Sharia. The religion of Islam is nothing short of a totalitarian political, economic, military, social and legal system that’s camouflaged in religious garb. Their mandate (not objective) is to incorporate our country into a global Islamic caliphate.

Sadly, they are making serious inroads towards their tyrannical mandate because America is asleep at the wheel. We are all that stands between freedom and a worldwide Islamic caliphate. The United States of America is the world’s last bastion of hope.

Re: Anti-American protests seen as "tip of the Islamist Iceberg"
New article:

Anti-American fury boils up in Muslim world

KHARTOUM - Anti-US protests by crowds whipped into fury by an anti-Islam film erupted across the Muslim world on Friday, as violence exploded in Sudan, Lebanon, Tunisia and Yemen leaving several dead and dozens hurt.

The protests came after Muslims emerged from mosques in their thousands following the Jumma prayers to voice their anger at the film.

In Khartoum, Sudanese security forces used teargas against thousands of demonstrators, who stormed Western embassies, setting ablaze Germany’s mission, an AFP reporter said.

Around 5,000 protesters stormed the embassies of Britain and Germany, which was torched and badly damaged, he said, while a medic said two demonstrators died in clashes near the US diplomatic mission.

Guards on the roof of the American embassy fired warning shots as a security perimeter was breached and dozens of Islamic flag-waving protesters scaled an outer wall, an AFP reporter said.

A police vehicle near the embassy was also torched as hundreds of demonstrators broke through the outer security cordon.

Earlier, police fired teargas when several protesters scaled the roof of the German embassy and others attacked its facade, tearing down the flag to replace it with a black one.

The demonstrators - building up in numbers to an estimated 10,000 - threw stones after a large number of security forces blocked off roads leading to the US compound, sparking further volleys of teargas, the AFP journalist said.

One demonstrator was run down and killed by a police vehicle, a medic said, as security forces dispersed a group of stone-throwers.

In Berlin, German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle condemned the “hate video” but said it was no excuse for an attack on his country’s embassy.

“I condemn the anti-Islamic hate video but still this cannot be a justification for the outbreak of violence,” he told

At least three people were killed and another 28 wounded in clashes at the US embassy in Tunis, which was stormed by an angry mob, official media said, citing the health ministry.

Two of the injured were in a critical condition, the same source said, without giving any details about the victims.

The protesters broke through into the compound of the US embassy, undeterred by volleys of teargas and warning shots fired by security forces, an AFP photographer reported.

There are two worrying conclusions:

1) The governments in the west wanted this to happen for some reason.

Or:

2) The governments in the west were too stupid not to see this was going to happen.

Both are worrying because it means we have governments with evil designs to cause mayhem in the world which has the potential to kill thousands or the governments are too incompetent to deal with the aftermath of their stupid interference.

American Muslims are here to stay, says US official

WASHINGTON: Muslims in America are here to stay, says Assistant US Attorney General for Civil Rights Thomas Perez, telling those who urge Muslims to ‘go home,’ “this is their home.”

Addressing a large Muslim gathering in the US capital, Perez also pledged to “use every tool at our disposal” to ensure equal opportunities for all Muslims living in America.

“The North American Muslim community is thriving, probably more so than any other place in the world,” said Pakistan’s ambassador, Sherry Rehman, while addressing the same convention.

“They are turning negative stereotypes on their heads through their eagerness to participate; to become engaged citizens in North American society, economically, socially and politically,” she said.

Tens of thousands of Muslims from around the United States gathered in Washington this weekend for the 49th annual Islamic Society of North America convention, “One Nation Under God: Striving for the Common Good.”

Recently, the department settled a suit in New York City, forcing the employers to provide equal opportunities to Muslim Americans.

“People should never be forced to choose between their jobs and their faiths,” Perez said. “We will also continue to fight bullying of Muslim kids in schools. We also have a message for those who tell Muslims to go home, ‘this is their home, the United States of America.’”

"They" knew...a seperate US Amassador and middle eastern expert pretty much said it out loud today in an interview ,in so many words..."When there is a regime change, chaos follows" He also said "hold onto your seat belt." That kinda scared me. But I think being scared is good. If you aren't, then you've definetely got your head in the sand fo' sure ! I feel like the world has just jumped into a large river and the current is very strong, there is no fighting it, you just have to go with the flow and see what transpires along the way. In the end the river flows out into an ocean and mingles and serenity transpires. That is the heartbeat of the world right now. We all have to live on this planet together, we just need to find the ocean and quit hanging onto the banks. Trust the Unirverse and it's purpose , always. Better things will and are coming in the end. The Muslims are our brothers.

At least someone gets it. Too bad the people running the show don't.

“Make no mistake,” said Barry Rubin, director of the Global Research in International Affairs Center in Israel, “this is a war, not a misunderstanding. It is a battle of ideologies and a struggle for control of state power, not hurt feelings over some obscure video.”

Thanks for that, Chrit. The filmmaker did describe Islam as cancer--and by the looks of that map, it appears to be spreading.

This is a problem compounded by our own stupidity in the West, first and foremost you have liberals/progressives in this country and abroad that defend the rights of those who want them dead, next we have the old shell game, where we never know who will be the enemy, it goes like this, "we are not violent muslims, that is only the extremists", but time and time again it seems like the "extremists" are everywhere, unless they load up in the bus and move on to the next plundering, and to top it all off we have a muslim sympathizer in the white house, always making excuses for them and making political moves to put them in more power. I pray for our country, i pray somebody put the criminal-in-chief behind bars, where he belongs.

The condemnations of the killings come now, but where were they before with all the other murders that were happening?

Dude, you may want to ramp down the complex verbosity here or you're gonna lose most of your audience.

We can only hope their sincerity is genuine. I have no issues with other religions as long as they don't impose, period.

Yes, you are right, we can only hope. To hold a whole group responsible for the actions of a few is ignorant.
