Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23740636 is it a sign of an underlying mental issue to have such strong emotions over an insect? No, I think you just have a lot of empathy. Which is not a bad thing. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23740636 is it a sign of an underlying mental issue to have such strong emotions over an insect? so you, so gay You are an embarrassment to heterosexuals. I have never understood, why fools like you see compassion as a gay emotion. But I know many fools like you. People like you generally feel that men who like or care for cats or cute small animals, or perhaps doesn't prefer a big bulldog with big teeth must be gay. How wrong you are. I feel sorry for the limited amount of compassion that you are able to feel. Go drink your beer, lay with many women, and growl like an animal and perhaps your false perception of yourself will be satiated to such an extent that you will falsely believe you are happy. To the OP, crying for a moth, is a sign that you care for living things, and are a compassionate person. It is nothing to be ashamed about. That being said, if someone is depressed they are more likely to cry at such things. But cry not for the death of any living creature. They fulfilled their life and returned to the living Force. Mourn them do not :-) You are all still asleep. Being informed of the political, global deceit, lies and propaganda and knowing who really runs the world is NOT being awake. You are all still ASLEEP. |

Not bragging, but want to let you know that. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19076628 You could be depressed, or there could be an underlying issue that you are suppressing. You might want to google "depression screening" or "depression checklist" and take a screening test, see if maybe you are depressed. If so, there are many ways to deal with it other than medication. Counseling can be quite effective. You might also look into St. John's Wort, which is considered safer than pharmaceuticals and is often very effective. Do your own research on it however. It is also possible that you are tired/exhausted, or have a hormonal imbalance. It is also possible that you are incredibly compassionate and spiritual, and understand that all life is connected. My mother says she feels deep, even physical empathy with animals and can feel their emotions when they are happy, distressed, scared, in pain, etc. She doesn't have this connection with people, only animals. You may have some form of this. I don't think she feels it with insects, but even if you don't pick up on their thoughts (which are probably pretty primal) you can still feel compassion for them, and that is admirable. Peace to you and good luck. hey...me next...ya think i might be depressed? i watch chemtrails being spread, poisoning my beautiful planet, i watch species go extinct and rainforests get ripped to shreds within days...i watch indigenous people's being destroyed, i grew up in the redwoods and feel the pain of clear cuts, our waterways are dying, fish animals and beautiful creatures dying en masse, weapons of mass destruction, mind control, rfid chip tech, weather manipulation and the psychopaths in charge enjoying the game with people's lives...manipulated droughts and food shortages...gmo's that burst the stomachs of insects being eaten by the masses who get fatter and fatter because of malnutrition from that food, leaky gut syndrome, children with autism....the sexual predation, child rape and pornography, snuff films, human depravity, drones killing innocent people, government lies and stupid sheep sucking it up, good people who can't take any more killing themselves because the dark is winning...i could go on, shall i? it's all real and it's all very very very bad. so tell me, mr. psych, am i crazy, or is this world insane? |

If she was a wild cat and had to feed herself by living of nature, I would have let her do it, probably went inside so I didn't have to hear the baby birds scream out in pain...but Obviously, the little spoiled brat could just come inside and eat some Fancy feast... Again, no crying...In fact, a part of me thought it was kinda cute that my cat was hunting. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 18514497 United Kingdom 09/28/2012 07:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have the same feeling towards all animals and insects alike, but couple of days ago, i killed a daddy long-legs "Insect with big legs which fly's" But i did it out of fear and frustration I really don't like them or spiders! I had this thing buzzing above my head when i couldn't sleep, and i just snapped and killed it with a news paper, then i just looked down saw it twitching, still trying to move and flap its wings then i felt guilty, and couldn't sleep anyways so what did it prove in the end? We look down, get on with our lives and keep moving simple principle of life i guess. But it doesn't make it any easier. |

Life is beautiful and feeling emotion for creatures other than people shows your humanity. IMAGE ( [link to i37.photobucket.com] ) That is a picture of my hatchling sulcata tortoise. Never lose your compassion, it's a rarity in this day and age. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 21283351 United States 09/28/2012 08:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I know the feeling... I raised a baby bird for 20 days from hatching to feathers...He died on Tuesday and I am still devastated. I am a man who weeps daily since I watched him pass - It took almost two hours for it to happen but I stayed with him til the last breath. I watched the whole thing and could do nothing to help. He'd been to the vet earlier that day too. It's really crazy and I feel really crazy for being so sensitive about it for so long. I did hit my head really hard the other day on a pipe so maybe that knocked some sensitive cells around in my head. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23740636 is it a sign of an underlying mental issue to have such strong emotions over an insect? Today things are changing at a very high rate. You are being woken up to the fact that all life is just as important as any other life. A bug in the eyes of a bug is important and plays a huge roll in this entire "system." You are feeling the true connectedness of it all. You and that bug can share love...and you can feel sorrow for the loss of that little guy too. Just as much as a person. We are at a point that more people need to think like this. We need to realize just how important all life is! |
