The basic problem with this reasoning is that we don't want ordinary people to be President. We want extraordinary people to be President, because they will have extraordinary problems to solve. (Or at least I think that people don't want incompetent Presidents, but I have to admit I'm not so sure after the last two elections.)

It is almost certain that the type of person who is qualified to be President will be successful prior to that - and that is the reason that a poor or middle class person will never be President.
