Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13039567 Same here. I'm a Senior Nikyu in Judo. And I started doing Jujitsu 2 months ago! Great shit. Judo/Jujitsu, or Karate/Kungfu??? Quoting: TheSeventhSeal98 The person who wins, is the person who is good at their art. I am a former MMA specialist who has trained in Hand-to-hand combat, and I have competed. There is no superior martial art. There are only superior practitioners. This whole argument needs to be dropped and let go of. |

I took it for a month, and then I ended up moving to OKC. Judo/Jujitsu, or Karate/Kungfu??? Quoting: TheSeventhSeal98 It all depends. Modern Judo does not teach strikes, so the advantage would be to the latter when the fight is standing. On the other hand, the latter art has an extreme lack of groundfighting. If the kungfu practitioner studied shuai jiao, he would be on even odds, perhaps even at an advantage because shuai jiao still teaches strikes and is a standing throwing art, akin to Judo. In the end, its all up to the person, not the art they study. Many kung fu schools do not practice live sparring. Judo and jiujitsu, you spar every training session. A large percentage of fights go to the ground. I personally think its essential to study as many martial arts as you can if you are striving to master martial arts. The whole "what art is better" game is rather silly... imo |

Add 20 to 30lbs to someone and they now have a huge advantage over someone of an equal fighting ability. If they have the same size, and different abilities, then the superior practitioner would win. Size does come into play big time when sport fighting or life or death hand to hand combat. Regards, Moe [link to GnosticWarrior.com] THERE IS A WAR FOR YOUR SOUL! Considering a fat female cop can drop anyone with a taser I would agree this argument also needs to be dropped. |
